Time: April 9, 2026, 8:30–11:30 AM

On April 9, 2026, the the Asia-Pacific Organization for Cell Biology (APOCB), the Chinese Society for Cell Biology (CSCB), and the Philippine Society for Cell Biology (PSCB) jointly hosted the first APOCB-CSCB-PSCB Education and Research Symposium at Hefei, China. Professor Xuebiao Yao, Secretary General of APOCB and Vice President of CSCB, delivered the opening remark speech. Professor Yao reviewed the history of APOCB and CSCB, introduced the structure framework and core missions of the two organizations, and emphasized the significance of promoting cell biology research and education in the Asia-Pacific region in propelling academic exchange and advancement.

The symposium was co-chaired by Professor Xiangting Wang, President of the Anhui Society for Cell Biology (local branch of CSCB in Anhui province), and Professor Vegesna Radha, Vice President of APOCB. Cell biologists from China, India, Philippines, and other Asia-Pacific regions gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on topics including cell biology pedagogical reforms, ethics, the integration of cutting-edge technologies, and regional research collaboration. This meeting has established a professional dialogue platform for high-quality educational development and scientific innovation within the Asia-Pacific cell biology community. It aims to build an open, shared, and synergistic Asia-Pacific cell biology education and research community, contributing "Asia-Pacific strength" to the global development of cell biology.
